Biography

Dutch soprano Margreet Rietveld (1988) obtained her bachelor’s degree in classical singing at the ArtEZ conservatory in Zwolle in July 2011 where she studied under the tutelage of Lodewijk Meeuwsen en Riekje Bakker. After her education she studied with Harry van Berne, Heleen Koele en Frans Fiselier. At present, she is coached by Pieter van Breugel.

As a soloist, Margreet can be heard in almost all great oratorios by composers such as Vivaldi, Bach (Matthew- and John Passion, Christmas oratorio and the B-minor Mass), Handel (Messiah, Dixit Dominus), Haydn (The Creation, The Seasons), Mozart (Requiem, Mass in c), Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Brahms (Requiem), and others.

She is a member of several professional and distinguished ensembles such as chamber choir (Kamerkoor) Ars Musica under the direction of Patrick van der Linden, Capella Amsterdam (Daniël Reuss) and Collegium Vocale Gent (Philippe Herreweghe)

As a soloist she engaged in masterclasses by Barbara Hannigan, Meribeth Dayme and Barbara Schlick.
